Vicki and Phil
Life Together
We are Vicki and Phil, an active, adventurous and loving couple from the New York area. We have hoped for years to grow our family, and can’t wait to help a little one grow, learn and explore under our care.
How we met: We were introduced 8 years ago by a mutual friend while on separate vacations in Newport, Rhode Island over the Labor Day holiday. After a few months of dating we knew it was meant to be so we decided to try and build a house first. It took us 18 months to complete the house that we now call home.
Our careers: Vicki, who has a college degree, no longer works and is looking forward to life as a stay-at-home mom. Phil is a self-employed Certified Public Accountant. His practice is referral based and he has been in the profession for over 20 years. His practice is strong and continues to grow. If Phil hit the lottery tomorrow and did not have to work, he would still keep a select few clients and continue to work so he would stay sharp.
Meet Vicki
I was adopted at nine weeks old. I grew up as an only child with my adoptive parents but had the benefits of growing up in a large family of many grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins, as well as may extended cousins. I was the youngest cousin and everyone took me under their wing. I was blessed to grow up with the family that I did and there was never any doubt of who my parents were. I have always known in my heart what a huge sacrifice it was for my birthparents to give birth to me and then give me up for adoption so that I was able to grow up in such a great family. I know they gave me a better life than they could have provided for.
I enjoy being creative; decorating our home and other projects. Creating something personal for someone special and seeing their face when given to them is priceless. I also enjoy jet skiing, but I really only get to do it once every couple of years or so now. I love to travel but also enjoy relaxing at home.

My wife Vicki is considerate, patient and endlessly loving. We have such respect for each other. Vicki is warmhearted, caring and genuine in what she says and does. We are both straight shooters—we say what we mean, and do what we say. We do things because we want to, not because we have to—at least most of the time! When Vicki puts her mind to doing something, it gets done. Day and night, Vicki will work on it until it’s accomplished.

Meet Phil
I am the kind of person who just hates missing out on things, so I like to try to do as many things as I possibly can. I enjoy exercising, especially when it involves outdoor activity. I love to bicycle. I am an avid boater and we have a small powerboat docked at a local marina about three miles from the house. I like to swim, sail (when possible), boogie board and ski. I’ve been consistently going to a gym for over 25 years; it keeps me in shape physically and mentally. Traveling is also something I love to do – may it be friends homes or a trip that requires flying, it doesn’t matter to me as long as we can get away.

Phil is my best friend and the love of my life! He is so fun to be around and can always make me laugh. Phil is always trustworthy. I never doubt his word and never have to question anything. Kids are always drawn to Phil because he knows the right amount of silly and how to have fun. He can relate with just about anyone and can be the life of the party if he so chooses. Finally, Phil is so sensitive and caring. He is willing to help in any way he can, no matter who you are.

Home
We live in a beautiful suburban area with many amenities for families. We live near the water and have great privacy at our home. We built our dream home from scratch with the idea of filling it with our family! It’s spacious, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a full basement and an attic. We couldn’t ask for better neighbors—it’s a great community where everyone looks out for one another.
We plan on sending our child to a private Catholic school, which is close enough to our home to walk! We also live close to parks, playgrounds and the bay. We are lucky enough to live in a community where there are always outdoor activities available—hiking trails, historical reenactments, children’s sports leagues and educational activities at museums. We are a short drive from New York City, and everything it has to offer—right at our fingertips!

We are also within a few block radius of Phil’s mother and his brother’s family. It will be nice for our child to grow up so close to their cousins!

Meet Rasputin
Our dog Rasputin is just the best dog ever! He is a 5-year-old Vizsla, which is a Hungarian hunting/bird dog. Rasputin is the most lovable dog possible—he is great around people and children. If he has a problem with a child who is a little too rough, he will just walk away and hang out someplace else.
We love Rasputin so much, we even had a 2nd birthday party for him and ten of his friends in our backyard. Phil barbequed steaks, burgers, hot dogs and chicken. Vicki found Doggie Beer and popcorn—and of course a peanut butter birthday cake for him and friends to finish off the night! Rasputin loves the beach, and we took him to a special “doggy beach” at the Jersey Shore for his 5th birthday. He had a blast running around and making new friends.

On Parenting
|
Our greatest hope is to raise a child in a happy and loving home where they have every opportunity to enjoy the good things in life. We will allow your child space to explore their interests, learn about other cultures, and grow into the individual they are. We will guide your child to be caring, compassionate and respectful. Your child will grow up as an essential part of a fiercely loving and close family circle.
We attend mass on a (near) weekly basis. Our child will be raised Catholic and have a faith-based education. They will see how important God is in their lives, which in turn will teach them about family values. This will be a guide until they are able to make their own decisions.
By Vicki: I have always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. My mom was the best. We could talk about any and everything—and we did! I can only hope to be as patient, understanding and as careful of a listener as my mom was. She was an incredible role model and I aspire to pass along all she taught me about being a mother.
By Phil: I am excited to teach a child all that I know. Though I have a professional career, my children and family will be the most important things in my life. I will take the time to be a dedicated and doting father. Your child will learn from our example—not only by what they hear from us, but by what they see.
