Mike and Alison

Hoping to Become Parents through Adoption

We are Mike and Alison from Long Island, NY. Thank you for visiting our site and learning more about us. We are so excited about expanding our family through adoption with a newborn, infant or toddler. We hope that fertility issues don't have to mean the end to our dream of completing our family. Having a biological child is not what's important to us...what matters is having a child to love unconditionally and feeling fulfilled as a family.

We admire your courage and wisdom in wanting the very best life for your baby. After getting to know us, we hope you will feel confident that your baby would be in good hands and be loved, nurtured and supported. We are sure that this has been a tough time for you, and want you to feel at peace with your choices and know that we will help you in any way we can. We will travel to any state and are willing to pay any pregnancy related expenses. We're also happy to work with whatever level of openness you are comfortable with. We look forward to including you and your family as much as you would like to be involved. A child can never have too much love!

We will not pretend to know exactly what you are going through and how difficult this decision must be. With us, your baby will always know of your courage, strength and love. We hope you will look through the rest of our site to learn more about us, our beautiful hometown and award winning school district, and the importance of adoption in our extended families.

Meet Alison

Alison is a 31 year old stay-at-home mom. She is warm, loving and creative. I knew that I wanted to marry her on our first date. She is the kind of person that lights up a room with her contagious smile. She is genuine, kind and compassionate but the quality that I admire most about Alison is her selflessness. She puts everyone she knows ahead of herself. Alison is a truly amazing singer and loves baking and making art projects with our son Ryan. Alison was meant to be a mom and delights in every moment of it. She has so much love to give that it amazes me sometimes. She is devoted to making sure Ryan knows how much he is loved every day. She is everything a mother should be to a child. Alison takes pleasure in making sure our family has a fun, happy and loving home. I can't wait to see the overwhelming happiness she will feel when another baby joins our family.

Meet Mike

Mike is 35 years old and works as a Finance Manager for a large, stable company. He's honest, intelligent, and thoughtful and loves to make people laugh. Our home is filled with laughter every single day thanks to Mike. His strong values and integrity make it so easy to love him and I've honestly never known a better man. As far as his interests, Mike likes football and hockey and also enjoys playing the guitar. He loves sharing these activities with our son as well. It is as a Dad where all of Mike's best qualities truly shine, and he always puts his family first. From covering late-night feedings to teaching Ryan his letters and numbers, Mike is the most involved father I know. He truly loves everything about being a Dad. He has such a strong sense of family and shows it every day by being a remarkable father and role model to our son. I would not be who I am today if it weren't for Mike's love, support and encouragement. He is truly my best friend and I feel lucky to be his wife.

Meet Ryan

Ryan is a sweet, energetic and thoughtful 3-year old. He has a playful personality and loves to make people laugh. He enjoys doing art projects, telling jokes, and playing hide-and-seek. Ryan adores babies and is super excited to be a big brother. He has already started picking out some of his toys that he thinks a baby would like!

We both grew up with an older sibling and we think there are so many advantages to having a big brother, especially one as loving as Ryan. The kids will not only have a playmate and friend for life, but will grow together and develop one of the strongest bonds there is.

While other people can only tell you the kind of parents they intend to be, we can tell you and show you from experience the kind of parents we are. We know what it takes to care for a newborn and these years of raising, teaching and loving Ryan have been the most rewarding of our lives. We can't wait to start the process all over again with a new addition to our family.

Our Home and Neighborhood

We live in a spacious, casual and relaxed newly renovated home on a quiet suburban block in Long Island, NY. Our home is ready to welcome a new addition to our family, with a nursery right across from our bedroom. We've got all the things a baby needs to be happy and comfortable, from car seat to crib to stroller. And ours is already a baby-safe house, as we've got an active 3 year old to keep safe and sound. Our house has a huge den full of toys, a newly finished basement with a playroom full of more toys, and a big, fenced-in yard with a swing set and plenty of room to run and play.

Our neighborhood is close-knit and full of young families with children ranging in age from newborn to teenager. We have 6 playgrounds within walking distance and a community park with a pool. We've lived here for 6 years and have made good friends. It's a very safe town and has one of the highest ranking school districts in the state, which is a big reason we chose to move here.

We are lucky to have a lot of family living very close by. There are many family gatherings with plenty of cousins to play with as well as two sets of grandparents and many aunts and uncles. All of our family members are just as excited as we are at the wonderful possibility of welcoming another precious child into our family.

We are 15 minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast, and 45 minutes from the great culture of New York City. We both grew up in the area and can think of no better place to raise our family.

Our Parenting Style

Making sure our kids know they are loved unconditionally is our number one goal. As parents, we feel strongly about providing a safe and supportive home. A child should feel loved and secure while having loads of fun and enjoying life. Whether it's rocking a baby to sleep for hours or jumping up for late night feedings, we will always love supporting our children in special ways. We think that being positive role models is such an important part of raising children, and we work hard to live our lives in a way that will make our kids proud. We believe our job as parents is to put our children's needs ahead of our own. We will always provide opportunities to learn and grow by helping with homework and encouraging educational activities. Our parenting style is full of encouragement, compassion and positive reinforcement.

Since Alison is a stay-at-home mom, you can be sure the baby will always be in capable hands. The baby's days will be filled with activity, fun and learning. Mike also has a flexible job that always allows him to put family first. We hope you can see how much love and dedication we have to offer, and how sincere we are in trying to provide the best life possible to another child.

Adoption in our Families

We have a long and loving pattern of adoption in our extended families, on both sides. Everyone is so excited and eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new baby. It feels great to know that every member of our family will love a new addition unconditionally and welcome them with open arms, regardless of how God sends them to us.

Alison has 3 cousins that were adopted from Columbia. Nick was adopted when he was 2-months old, Stephanie when she was 4-months old, and Jessica as a 5-month old. Nick is now 32 and working in computer networking, Steph is 29 years old and a speech therapist, and Jess is 28 and studying to be a radiologist technician.

Mike has 2 cousins that were adopted at birth. Allison Kate was adopted from Virginia and Kimberly was adopted from Pennsylvania. Allie Kate is going to be 10 years old soon and she is starting 5th grade. She loves animals and horseback riding. Kimberly is 6 years old and going into 1st grade. Kimberly loves playing dress up and dancing.

Mike's Grandmother was a foster Mom for nearly 20 years. Mike's Uncle Chris came to their family when he was 5 days old. Mike's Godfather Tommy came to live with them when he was a year and a half. Duane and Stephen came to them as infants and Tom came to live with them when he was 15 years old. Chris, now 45 years old was legally adopted by Mike's Grandmother when he was 6 years old.

With adoption being such an important part of our history, there is no question that our next child will be welcomed without reservation by everyone in our large, loving family.
